This was an amazing opportunity and I’m so happy to share it with you! I was invited by Buffet Crampon, the company that makes my oboe, to perform in Paris for their 200 year anniversary. Here’s how it went.
1. The Power of Networking
One thing that made this opportunity possible was me introducing myself to a member of Buffet Crampon. I was at an event and saw that a representative from Buffet Crampon was there, so I swallowed my nerves and introduced myself to him.
If I hadn’t done that, I wouldn’t have ended up with this opportunity. Networking is so important as a musician.
So the next time you want to introduce yourself to someone, go for it. You never know what might come about because of it.
2. Performing amongst professional musicians
For this concert, I was performing with many professional musicians. Being beside them really helped me in my own playing because I was able to see what I wanted to improve. Now, back in the UK, I have a better idea of what I want to work on.
Playing with these amazing musicians was also so inspiring. The concert was so joyful and I am so grateful for the opportunity.
This was truly a magical experience.
All my best,
Eleanor
